OCTG (OIL COUNTRY TUBULAR GOODS) / API-CASING, – TUBING, – DRILL PIPE
Oil Country Tubular Goods short form (OCTG) refer mainly casing and tubing but can also refer line pipe used in transporting and exploration of oil and gas.
Casing has been used while drilling a well. Casing has been placed in the well and cemented, which keeps the hole from sloughing in while drilling process or producing. After well completion tubing is inserted, tubing is the pipe through which oil and gas flow to the surface.
To ensure a quality product as per API 5CT standards, casing and tubing are gone through a series of quality tests that include the hydro test, straightness check, welding test and evaluation etc.
